Dead Money
Money put into the pot by players who have already folded.

Deal
To deal is to give out the cards during a hand.

Dealer
The person who deals the cards..

Declaration
Declared games are games in which the players must declare the value of their hand in order to claim the pot. In high-low poker, declaring by the use of coins or chips whether one is aiming to win the high or the low end of the pot, or both.

Deuce
A two, the lowest ranking card in high poker.

Deuce To Seven
Another term for Kansas City Lowball. A two to seven without a flush, being the best hand.

Dominant Hand
A starting hand that will almost always beat another starting hand.

Door Card
The first card that is dealt face-up in seven card stud.

Draw Dead
To draw when it turns out you would lose even if you hit your draw. If you're drawing to make a flush, and another player already has a full house, you are drawing dead.

Draw Lowball
Type of poker game where each player is dealt five cards with the option of discarding one or more cards and replacing them with new ones. The low hand wins.

Type of poker game where each player is dealt five cards down with the option of discarding one or more cards and replacing them with new ones to make a better hand.

Drawing Hand
A hand that can not win unless it is improved with the draw.
