Call
To match the previous bet.

Calling Station
A passive player who calls a lot, but doesn't raise or fold much.

Cap
In limit games, the limit on the number of raises in a round of betting.

Cards Speak
The rule that players do not have to correctly state the contents of their hand.

Case
Another name for an inside straight draw..

Case Chips
A player's last chips.

Cash In
To leave the game and convert the chips to cash.

Catch
When the cards are treating the player well, player is said to be catching cards.

Caught
Slang for caught bluffing.

Caught Speeding
Slang for caught bluffing.

Chase
To stay in against an apparently stronger hand, usually in the hope of filling a straight or flush.

Check
To not bet, with the option to call or raise later in the betting round. If there has been no betting before a player in a betting round, he or she may check. It is like betting $0 or passing the turn.

Check Raise
To check and then raise when a player behind you bets. A raise after the you have already checked within a betting round. Check-raises can be used to trap a player who (for example) would have folded to a single bet, but who will open if it is checked to them.

Chip Race
As the limits increase in tournaments, lower denomination chips are taken out of circulation. Instead of rounding odd chips up or down for each player, the players are dealt a card for each odd chip. The player with the highest card is given all the odd chips, which are then colored up.

Chips
Small round tokens purchased by players to place bets.

Chop
To return the blinds to the players who posted them and move on to the next hand. It also means to "split the pot".

Closed Poker
Games in which all of the cards are dealt face down.

Coffeehouse
Players talking about a hand they are involved in, with the intent of misleading other players.

Call Cold
To call both a bet and raise at the same time.

Collusion
When two or more players conspire to cheat in a poker game.

Color Up
To exchange one's chips for the higher value chips, usually in order to reduce the number of chips one has on the table.

Community Cards
The cards that are dealt face-up to the table. All players can use these cards to complete a five-card hand.

Complete Hand
A hand that is defined by all five cards- a straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, or straight flush.

Connector
Cards of consecutive ranks, especially pocket cards.

Counterfeit
When a player's hand turns less valuable because of the board cards that duplicate it.

Cowboy
Another term for Kings.

Crack
When a strong hand is beat, it is said to be cracked.
