When a

Belly Buster
A draw to fill an inside straight.
Bet
To place chips into the pot.
Bet The Pot
To bet the total value of the pot.
Bicycle
A straight that is Ace-2-3-4-5.
Big Bet Poker
Another term for pot-limit and no-limit poker.
Big Blind
The forced bet in second position before any cards are dealt. Usually this
is a Live Blind, which means that the player in this position can raise if
no one else has before the cards are dealt.
Big Slick
A hand that contains an A-K.
Blank
A card with little value to the hand.
Blind
A forced bet that must be put in by one or more players before any cards are
dealt. Usually, blinds are put in by players immediately to the left of the
button.
Blind Raise
Player raising without looking at his or her hand.
Bluff
To raise or bet with a weak hand to get the other players to fold.
Board
The face up cards or community cards on the table.
Boat
Another term for a full house.
Bottom Pair
A pair with the lowest card on the flop.
Boxed Card
A card that is turned the wrong way in a deck.
Bring-In
To make the first bet on the first round of a hand (not including blind bets
and antes).
Bring It In
To start the betting on the first round.
Broadway
An Ace high straight.
Bullet
Another term for an Ace.
Bump
To raise.
Burn
To discard the top card from the deck, face down. This is done between each
betting round before putting out the next community card(s). It is security
against any player recognizing or glimpsing the next card to be used on the
board.
Bust A Player
To deprive a player of all his chips; in tournament play, to eliminate a
player.
Button
A white acrylic disk to indicate who the dealer is.
Buy
Make a bet large enough that other players would be unlikely to call.
Buy-In
The minimum amount of money required to enter poker game.
